9 Months……Really?!

Wow…..my baby girl turned 9 months old yesterday.  That means we are 3 months away from her First birthday……really?!

Being a mommy has been the most wonderful experience of my life.  I don’t think you ever realize how much you can love someone until you have a baby.  Don’t get me wrong, being a mommy provides challenges, but all the good times squash away the few rough times….especially when your little baby looks at you and smiles!!

Tonight, daddy took her 9 month photos and I must say, she is quite the little rock star and I am proud to say she is my little rock star!!!

Here is a sample of some of the photos.  Check out Drew’s BLOG for more pics from her photo shoot!

Splish Splash.

Drew and I bought Jensen her first pool on Friday!  Today was the perfect day to try it out.  It was sunny and very warm, so we filled it up and after J’s afternoon nap she went for a little dip!

Jensen wasn’t quite sure at first what was going on, but she quickly fell in love with this big “bathtub” and starting splashing around.  Daddy poured some of the water over her head and she went “ugh” a few times, but she loved it! I also brought out some of her bath time toys and she just sat there talking and singing to them.  We eventually got her to crawl around a little bit, but she mostly just sat there splashing around and babbling.  We figured she would enjoy the pool because she LOVES bathtime, but we didn’t know it was going to be that easy and fun!  We are definitely looking forward to more pool time this summer!!

2 Teeth.

I was finally able to get a picture of Jensen’s 2 little teeth in her bottom gum.  It cracks me up to see teeth in her mouth when she smiles!

And she has been keeping herself very busy pulling up onto everything.  She is trying to be mommy’s big helper!

Mommy loves you Jenbug.

Happy Belated Birthday Josh!!

A special little boy in our family turned 5 years old on April 27th.  It is hard to believe how quickly time has flown by.

Josh is such a sweet boy who loves his family so very much, in fact, he checks the blog regularly to see how his cousin Jensen is doing.  At Christmas, Josh sent hand wrapped gifts for Jensen with grandma June to Kansas City…what a wonderful, generous cousin!  Because Josh lives in Colorado we don’t get to see him as often as we would like to, but as luck would have it, we will get to see little Josh in July when he comes to visit his cousins Jensen and Ella!!

I’m sorry this birthday wish is late Josh, but I promise I am trying to get better at remembering everyone’s birthday.  In fact, grandma June is going to help me with this when you guys come to KC in July because she is going to let me copy down everyone’s birthday from her special birthday book!!

Happy, Happy 5th Birthday Joshua!  We love you so much and can’t wait to see you!

Happy Mother’s Day

I would like to say Happy Mother’s Day to the wonderful mothers in my life.  Mom – you mean the world to me and I could never describe how much your love, guidance and advice has meant to me over the years – especially the past 8 months!  Terri – you are the best mother-in-law a girl could ask for.  You have always loved me and been there for me which has meant so much.  My grandma June – you are a wonderful person and a fabulous grandma.  I wish we could see you more, but know that you are always in our heads and our hearts and we can’t wait to see you again soon!

This year we have a mommy-to-be in our family.  Laura is expecting her first child, a girl, in just a few short weeks.  We are all so excited to introduce Ella into the family!!

To all my extended family and friends – Happy Mother’s Day!!  I hope you each got to spend it with those you love the most!!!

And of course, since I have been a mommy now for 8 months…..I’m going to share more pictures of my beautiful daughter, Jensen!

The past few weeks have been a little hectic for me. I have been occupied with lectures, grading, evaluations of pharmacy students on rotation and a number of other work-related commitments. I am relieved it is May because I now have a few weeks before things pick up again in June!!
Jensen has been quite busy since the last time I posted. She is now 8 months old, loves to talk – “mama” and “dada” are her words of choice! She is crawling ALL OVER the place, into everything, pulling up onto anything and everything, loves when Drew and I “walk” with her, has two bottom teeth that have broke the surface, is using her fingers to grab at everything, including her food and is exploring the world around her!
Last weekend was Laura’s baby shower and my cousin Megan and her daughter Sophia came into town and stayed with us. Sophia and Jensen are 4 months and were so cute together! Jensen is hardly ever around other children and did surprisingly well with Sophia. They did a lot of reaching for one another and Jensen did a lot of talking to Sophia. It was wonderful to have Megan and Sophia visit us and we look forward to even more times together with Sophia and Jensen.
